What is CodeX?

CodeX, by InnoVets, is a comprehensive program offering cybersecurity and IT education, training, mentorship, and job placement assistance for Active Duty Service Members, Military Veterans, and Gold Star Family members. In partnership with Plymouth State University, InnoVets provides the framework for motivated Veterans to build successful careers on their terms. 

CodeX provides a 15-week cybersecurity certificate program to instill participants with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to begin a career in IT and cybersecurity. These free courses and training will be offered in a hybrid format, with both online and in-person requirements at Plymouth State University.

Accommodations

All program participants will be offered dorm-style housing on Plymouth State University's campus, located in idyllic Plymouth, New Hampshire, to ensure convenient access. 

Program Benefits

CodeX stands out as one of the few in-person cybersecurity programs available, designed specifically by Veterans, for Veterans. The program is uniquely tailored to leverage military experience, ensuring a smooth transition into a civilian cybersecurity career.

Participants will be prepared to take industry-recognized certification exams, including Security+ (Sec+) and CCNP, providing a strong foundation for building a cybersecurity-focused resume. Additionally, the courses completed through CodeX can be applied as college credits toward a Bachelor's degree at Plymouth State University, offering a seamless pathway for those looking to further their education in cybersecurity.

Throughout the program, CodeX students gain access to mentors from the extensive networks of InnoVets, and Plymouth State. These connections can provide access to networking with leading industry professionals and establishing meaningful relationships.

Program Curriculum

Computing Fundamentals

120 Hours

Introduces the basics of IT and computing, including hardware, software, operating systems, data management, and virtual machine usage

Networking Fundamentals

120 Hours

Covers the essentials of networking, including IT terminology, network topography, OSI models, secure administration, and cloud services

Cybersecurity Fundamentals

120 Hours

Teaches the principles of cybersecurity, focusing on threats , vulnerabilities, defenses, risk management, and ethical considerations

Programming Fundamentals

150 Hours

Provides foundational programming skills using Python, focusing on software development, automation, and security

Advanced Information & Certification Training

3 Weeks + 

Explores emerging technologies, critical cybersecurity challenges, and prepares students for professional certifications

CodeX is currently offered to the military community, including Veterans, Guard and Reserve Members, and military-connected individuals who are eligible for state or VA education benefits.
